Within the resent days of President Trump being
elected into office, many are scratching their heads and left with questions of
why and how when it comes to his choices as president. His recent choice of
leaving it up to the states to keep Obama' s regulations on transgender friendly bathrooms in State funded schools is splitting the country in half.
Throughout Trumps campaign he continued to state how he wanted to give the
states the power again. With an issue like Gender neutral bathrooms in public
schools Trump said that it’s not an issue that should not be left at the
federal level but should be left up to the states. He wants to revoke the bill
letting Trans students use bathrooms of their own and give the state the power
to decide if they want to protect Transgender rights.
The infamous Tomi Lahren from The Blaze had a few words to say about the Transgender bathrooms. She states that Trump is simply returning Americas bathrooms back to normal. Along with stating " The Trump administration will undo President Obama's free for all Bathroom dictate, which was a infringement on states rights in the first place." Tomi's point of view that Obama's bill was just a bathroom free for all that allows "a safe space for transgenders but also a place for creeps and pedophiles" is mostly unjustified and washed down for the right wing media. Tomi also speaks negatively about how left wing media is blowing it out of proportion and how its just a bunch of "fake news and B.S. to feed the sheep of the left."
Tomi Larhen from The Blaze must not understand how a the left wing media is covering this topic. CNN a majority of left wing a democratic points of views states all the facts. Saying how Trump is simply not repealing the entire bill but leaving it up to the states and schools. CNN shares a statement from the White house about the joint decision from the Department of Justice and Department of Education saying "the new policy will pave the way for an open and inclusive process to take place at the local level with input from parents, students, teachers and administrators". They also state how the new secretary of the Department of Education, Betsy DeVos is for the LGBT community and stands behind trump choice. She sates that she would not stand behind something if it would to potentially harm any young American citizen.

For me I believe that the
states should have more of a say when it comes to bills that come out of our
capital. However, when it comes to the transgender bathroom issue I see it as
the bill was already created and helped out many so why revoke it? Many
Transgender and LGBT students are subjugated to harassment just for having to
use the bathroom. The Trans community struggles to get
respect and have their issues heard. The bathroom situation was an issue that
was resolved and sure many didn’t agree with the choice. However, one thing I fear is some states and schools revoking it leaving the Transgendered youth subjugated to more harassment and bullying. What are your opinions? Do you think Trump should have revoked the bill and left it to the states and school systems to decide or should have kept Obama's original bill?
